How long will the power be off?
Usually just a few hours in the middle of the day. We plan the changeover so the disruption stays as short as possible.
Why does my new fuse box trip when the old one never did?
Modern boards catch faults the old one silently ignored. That is exactly the protection you are paying for. We test every circuit at changeover, so anything the new board flags gets found and fixed properly.
Do I actually need a new consumer unit?
If yours has rewireable fuses, a wooden back or no safety switches (RCDs), it is worth upgrading. If yours is fine, we will tell you so. We will never sell you a board you do not need.
